Discussions are under way for a possible nonleague football game between Bakersfield and Anaheim Servite that would take place the first weekend in September as part of a showcase event at Encino Crespi.

Servite was supposed to play Sacramento Grant, but that game has fallen through. Bakersfield went unbeaten last season but was denied a CIF state championship bowl game.

This would be the chance for Bakersfield to demonstrate what it can do against one of the top football programs in Southern California if the games comes off.
