First place in the Marmonte League was on the line Wednesday night, and Calabasas and Simi Valley Royal decided 32 minutes weren’t enough.

It took two overtimes before Calabasas came away with a 75-72 victory, giving Coach Jon Palarz his 300th career win.

Spencer Levy scored 21 points and Joshua Cohan 20 for Calabasas (18-3, 8-1). Jeremy Lieberman had 12 points, seven assists and zero turnovers playing point guard. Nick Creber led Royal (15-6, 7-2) with 24 points.

‘I’ve never seen a better game,’ Palarz said. ‘Both teams played their hearts out like high school basketball should be.’
