Boys’ basketball: Marqueze Coleman scores 36 points in win

What a week it was for Mission Hills Alemany, which won its fourth game in six days on Saturday in defeating Santa Monica, 80-69, in the Fairfax State Preview Classic.

Marqueze Coleman made seven three-pointers and finished with 36 points. Max Guercy had 20 points and 10 assists. Bear Henderson had 20 points. Alemany is 20-3 overall heading into a Mission League showdown against host Encino Crespi on Wednesday night. Crespi has inflicted two of Alemany’s three losses this season.

Harvard-Westlake (14-7) picked up a 62-60 win over Torrey Pines when Derick Newton scored with two seconds left. Newton had 16 points. Josh Hearlihy, who had missed 14 games with a knee injury, returned to make three three-pointers in the fourth quarter. Garrett Galvin scored 33 points for Torrey Pines.
