It’s the time of the basketball season to start making improvement with the playoffs approaching, and L.A. Price is doing just that.

The Knights (17-5) won their sixth consecutive game, routing L.A. Windward, 65-41, in the Fairfax State Preview Classic.

Leading the way has been 6-foot-8 center Skylar Spencer, a San Diego State signee who has become such a force on defense with his ability to block shots that it’s fueling the whole team. He had 10 points Saturday, part of a balanced attack that was led by Chance Murray, who had 14 points.

Price trailed at halftime, 26-23, then outscored Windward, 26-5, in the third quarter.

Gardena Serra (21-2) knocked off Fairfax, 50-40. Kajon Mack scored 16 points for the Cavaliers.
