Boys’ basketball: Price vs. Alemany on Saturday

Two of the hottest teams in Southern California, Los Angeles Price and Mission Hills Alemany, are scheduled to play in a one-day showcase basketball game on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. at Alemany.

Price is 17-5 and has won six consecutive games. Alemany is 20-3 and has won six consecutive games. Both schools have games this week before being able to focus on Saturday.

Alemany has to get past its nemesis, Encino Crespi, on Wednesday at Crespi. Two of the Warriors’ three losses came to Crespi. Price has games against Ribet on Thursday and Washington on Friday.

Other games at Alemany on Saturday: Campbell Hall vs. Sylmar, 2:15 p.m.; El Camino Real vs. Renaissance, 3:45 p.m.; Oaks Christian vs. Morningside, 5:15 p.m.; Harvard-Westlake vs. Compton Centennial, 8:15 p.m.

Other big games on Wednesday are Mater Dei-Orange Lutheran, Palisades-Fairfax and Gardena Serra-Bishop Montgomery.

The Nike Extravaganza is set for Friday and Saturday at Mater Dei.
