Boys’ basketball: Sierra Canyon coach gets to go home

The memories figure to be flooding back on the ride to Malibu High for Chatsworth Sierra Canyon Coach Ryan Silver, who graduated from Malibu in 1997, played for the basketball team and was the student body president.

Now he’s head coach at Sierra Canyon, which plays at Malibu on Wednesday night in a first-round Southern Section Division 4AA playoff opener.

If anyone needs a good surfing spot, Silver can provide the answer.
