Boys’ basketball: Muir coach placed on administrative leave

Pasadena Muir Coach Gamal Smalley has been placed on administrative leave pending outcome of a district investigation after the basketball team had to forfeit 20 games because of an ineligible player.

Smalley just completed his third season and has done a terrific job rebuilding the Mustangs’ program. But the school could not determine if center Andre Frazier, who earlier attended Bell-Jeff, University and Fairfax, had made a valid change of address.
