Boys’ soccer: Marina upsets No. 1 Servite

Huntington Beach Marina and top-seeded Anaheim Servite ended regulation in a 0-0 tie in their Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinal playoff match in soccer before Marina prevailed, 3-2, on penalty kicks to advance to a semifinal game against Ventura. Ventura defeated San Clemente, 4-3, on penalty kicks after regulation ended in a 1-1 tie.
Loyola got a goal from Harrison Nichols to defeat St. John Bosco, 1-0. The Cubs will play Long Beach Millikan in the other Division I semifinal. Millikan defeated Los Alamitos, 2-0.
The No. 1 seeds in Division 2 and 3 soccer also were beaten. Claremont lost to La Sierra, 1-0. Warren lost to Palmdale, 1-0.
