The Easton tournament semifinals turned out to be the Mission League vs. the Foothill League, and the Mission League pitching was a little bit better for Harvard-Westlake and Alemany.

Sophomore Jack Flaherty threw a complete game to lead the Wolverines past West Ranch, 2-0. Ryan Vanderschans had an RBI for Harvard-Westlake (4-0), which was limited to two hits. JC Cloney had two hits for West Ranch.

Alemany (4-0) defeated Valencia, 1-0. Cody Thompson, expected to start against Harvard-Westlake on Tuesday in a Mission League opener, threw three shutout innings. Peter Van Gansen threw two innings for the save. Corey Sims drove in the only run with a sacrifice fly.

By agreement, Harvard-Westlake will play Valencia on Saturday and Alemany will play West Ranch so all four schools can avoid playing league rivals.
