Boys’ basketball: Some top individual players on display

Thursday’s championship games at the Anaheim Convention Center have some top individual players taking center stage.
The 4AA final features McDonald’s All-American Grant Jerrett, a 6-foot-10 Arizona signee from La Verne Lutheran, taking on Gardena Serra at 4:45 p.m. Serra is trying to pull off the rarity of winning section titles in boys and girls basketball.
The 4-A final at 3 p.m. has Cantwell-Sacred Heart and junior standout Jose Estrada, averaging 31.3 points, taking on Pacific Hills and senior guard Brandon Taylor.
Calabasas plays in the 3AA final at 6:30 p.m. against South Torrance. Sophomore guard Jeremy Lieberman has been coming on strong for the Coyotes, who won the Marmonte League championship.
