Boys’ basketball: First title for Holy Martyrs

They’re celebrating at Holy Martyrs in Encino. The Armenian school won its first basketball title with a 65-62 overtime victory over Burbank Providence in the Southern Section 5A final at Mater Dei.

The hero was 5-11 senior Nshan Kenjoian, who scored 33 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Holy Martyrs had lost twice to Providence in league play.

Marcus LoVett Jr., a freshman, finished with 38 points for Providence.
