Santa Margarita wins ice hockey title

Ice hockey has become big at Santa Margarita. A club team made up of Santa Margarita students won its second consecutive state title on Sunday, beating San Jose Bellarmine, 4-1, at Honda Center.

Mike Kilkuts, Kyle Speirkel, Logan Borzansky and Kyle Conway scored goals for the Eagles.

Goalie Connor O’Brien stopped 27 of 28 shots. He allowed only three goals in four games of the tournament.
