Football: Seven on seven tournament in Las Vegas

This weekend in Las Vegas is a seven on seven passing tournament in which all-star teams of high school players will be participating trying to impress all the Internet recruiting gurus.

We’re all waiting by our computers to see who gets the best buzz and who is declared the next sleeper prospect.

Su’a Cravens of Vista Murrieta, Kelly Hilinski of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame and Troy Williams of Narbonne are among the big-name athletes participating.

Hilinski, a quarterback, doesn’t even need to participate. He already has Harvard and Yale wanting him, which seems good enough to me.

But the athletes want to impress someone, so they come out en force to please their private tutors. And there’s nothing wrong with good competition as long as no one gets hurt.
