Girls’ basketball: Bishop O’Dowd increases lead

Oakland Bishop O’Dowd is eight minutes away from ending Laguna Hills’ dreams of a second state title.

The Dragons have a commanding 45-22 lead heading into the fourth quarter of the CIF state Division V championship game at Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento.

Kendall Waters and Aisia Robertson each have 10 points for Bishop O’Dowd, which opened a 10-0 lead and never looked back. The Dragons are trying to make amends for their 53-42 loss to Santa Maria St. Joseph in last year’s state final.
