Former Newbury Park pitcher Jimmie Sherfy, a sophomore at Oregon, has become a standout for the Ducks.
He leads the nation in averaging 13.65 strikeouts per nine innings and has a 1.63 ERA.
He has become the closer for the Ducks. He has 42 strikeouts in 27 2/3 innings.
