Baseball: Mater Dei advances with 12-0 win in North Carolina

Santa Ana Mater Dei has advanced to the semifinals of the National High School Invitational in Cary, N.C., after a 12-0 win over Corpus Christi (Texas) Carroll.

Ty Moore hit a three-run home run and Jeremy Martinez and Tyler Adkinson had three hits apiece in the five-inning victory.

Harvard-Westlake also advanced to the semifinals with 10-3 win over Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview. Max Fried had the pitching victory and Alex Horowitz and Arden Pabst contributed key hits. Orange Lutheran fell 5-3 to Sarasota (Fla.)
