Track & Field: Colony’s Kyree King wins 100 meters

So far, it has been one strong performance after another for Southern Section sprinters on Day 2 of the Arcadia Invitational.

Senior Kyree King of Ontario Colony won the boys 100-meter dash in 10.70 seconds, edging Eric McDaniel of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame and Bryce Treggs of Bellflower St. John Bosco, who won their respective heats.

Terance Narvaez from Moreno Valley Canyon Springs won the boys 400 meters in 48.59 and fellow senior Mariella McCormack of Claremont won the girls 400 meters in 56.51.

Senior Toure McCully of La Verne Bonita won the boys 110-meter hurdles in 14.60 and junior Chris Hawkins of Rancho Cucamonga was took second in 14.75.

Kymber Payne, a sophomore from Long Beach Poly, won the girls 100 hurdles in 14.35.

Talem Franco of Heber (Utah) Wasatch won the boys 800 meters in 1:54.19. San Diego Cathedral Catholic’s Jake Williams (1:54.50) was second.

Carina Gillespie of Chula Vista Otay Ranch won the girls 800 meters in 2:13.60, edging fellow junior Amanda Mansoorbekht of Monrovia by 28 hundredths of a second.
