It apparently takes three quarterbacks to replace Justin Moore, the former Westlake quarterback who gave up the sport at the end of last season.

Westlake used three different quarterbacks during its first three offensive possessions Saturday night en route to a 24-6 win over Granite Bay at Del Oro High in Loomis.

Sophomore Danny Hong started, Neil Uskali came in on the next possession and Tommy Gonzalez also played.

Uskali took over in the second half and threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Alex Egurbide in the fourth quarter. He also had a 35-yard TD pass in the first half to Jake Rothschiller.

Coach Jim Benkert said none of the three quarterbacks had separated from the other, so he decided to give them all a shot.

Westlake’s defense performed well, with Kyle Rothschiller and Jesse Cuccia each coming up with an interception.
