The swarm defense of Huntington Beach Edison (3-0) gained plenty of respect after the Chargers’ 6-0 victory over Anaheim Servite on Friday night.

Edison doesn’t have any players considered big-time college prospects, but the Chargers have lots of players who know how to play assignment football, and when they execute a game plan, good things happen.

Leading the way has been defensive end Derek Baljeu and linebacker Elijah Herrera, who had 16 tackles two weeks ago against Villa Park.

‘There’s not one guy dominating,’ Coach Dave White said. ‘We swarm to the ball.’

Next up for Edison is a showdown game against unbeaten Santa Ana Mater Dei on Friday.
