The fall baseball season begins next month, and Simi Valley Coach Matt La Belle is excited about his pitching staff.

Leading the way is senior Spencer Dubaich, who was 9-0 with a 2.57 ERA last season. Also back is 6-foot-5 junior Matthew Campbell, who touched 90 mph as a sophomore.

Agoura is the favorite in the Marmonte League, but Newbury Park showed last season what can happen when a team comes up with a pitcher who knows how to pitch. Luke Eubank pitched the Panthers to the Southern Section Division I championship.

Dubaich is in the mode of Eubank.

‘He’s got a big curveball and a big change,’ La Belle said.
