West Hills Chaminade withstood a late charge by host Sherman Oaks Notre Dame to win 35-27 and head into next week’s Mission League opener against Gardena Serra with some momentum.
Terrell Newby ran for over 200 yards and four touchdowns for the Eagles, who improved to 4-1.
Khalfani Muhammad ran for 103 yards and one touchdown and caught a touchdown pass for Notre Dame, which dropped to 4-2 heading into next week’s Serra League showdown with Mission Hills Alemany.
