Girls’ cross country: Another national title for Simi Valley’s Sarah Baxter

The remarkable cross country season for Simi Valley’s Sarah Baxter continued on Saturday, when she won her second consecutive national title in capturing the Nike Cross Nationals in 19:17 in Oregon.

Earlier this year, she set a course record in winning her third consecutive state championship in Fresno and set a course record in winning at Mt. San Antonio College.

Baxter is only a junior and has never lost a high school race.

Arcadia won the boys’ title.

For the record: An earlier version of this post had the wrong winning time of 15:22.80 for Sarah Baxter. Her winning time was 19:17.
