Boys’ basketball: Doug Mitchell gets win No. 500

Doug Mitchell had to wait all spring, summer and fall, but it was worth it after Torrance Bishop Montgomery delivered his 500th career coaching victory for the Knights on Monday night in their season opener.

Bishop Montgomery defeated Manual Arts, 92-25, in a first-round game of the Westchester tournament. Stephen Thompson Jr. scored 22 points and Lamond Murray Jr. had 18 points.
