Boys’ basketball: Lawndale wins first league title since 1998

Lawndale has won the Pioneer League championship with a 10-0 record after a 59-48 victory over Compton Centennial.
Will Newman scored 21 points and Nathan McAnally had 18. Sophomore Chimezie Metu added 14 points, 10 rebounds and nine blocks.
It’s the first league championship for Lawndale since 1998.
