The coach of the North Hollywood golf team, Steve Miller, doesn’t make his players run a lap if they miss a putt, but senior Ken Guerrero is certainly in shape to do just that.

Guerrero will be competing in the Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday. He has been training for months as part of Students Run LA.

He’s scheduled to play in a golf match on Monday. Whether he plays or not, Miller has been impressed with Guerrero’s commitment to run in the marathon.

‘I said, ‘You’re kidding,’’’ Miller said. ‘Then he told me he’s been training for six months. He’s going to run 26 miles. If he runs the marathon like he walks the golf course, it will take him a week to finish.’

Miller said Guerrero ‘loves challenges.’ And one of the challenges will be playing golf a day after running the marathon.
