A father who was once a high school sports star always dreams that his daughter can be one, too, and former Birmingham catcher John Glantz is havng fun watching his daughter, Samantha, a junior catcher at Oaks Christian who’s hitting .443 and committed to Auburn.
Glantz points out that the 2008 Northridge 12U all-star softball team that finished second in nationals has produced some pretty good players.
Besides his daughter, Kristin Cullen, a junior at Oaks Christian, is committed to California. Also on the team was Brittany Solis, a senior at Chaminade committed to Central Florida, along with Chaminade’s starting pitcher, Courtney Sooy.
Yes, the years go by but the children can make the parents smile.
