Track & Field: Khalfani Muhammad wins 100 at prelims

Khalfani Muhammad of Notre Dame ran the fastest qualifying time in the boys 100-meter dash, clocking 10.40 seconds at the state prelims in Clovis. He will try to repeat as state champion Saturday.

Ariana Washington of Long Beach Poly was the top girls qualifier in 11.48 seconds and will also try for her second straight state title Saturday.

Both sprinters will attempt to qualify in the 200 meters later in today’s meet.
