Alex Rodriguez is the Times’ bureau chief in Islamabad. Before joining the Times in May 2009, he spent seven years as the Chicago Tribune’s Moscow bureau chief, writing extensively about the evolution of Russia under Vladimir Putin. He is a graduate of Western Illinois University.
