Laura King is the Times’ bureau chief in Kabul. She previously served as bureau chief in Jerusalem and as a correpondent in Turkey and Pakistan. Before coming to the Times, she worked for The Associated Press, with postings in Washington, London, Tokyo and Jerusalem. She holds a B.A. from the University of California, Davis, an M.S. from the University of Oregon and an MFA from Vermont College. She was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard in 1997-8 and a Welling Presidential Fellow at George Washington University in 2008-9.
