Discarded Christmas trees are being collected by the Lake Oroville Fish Enhancement Committee, which drops them in Lake Oroville to enhance the habitat for bass and trout. Betty Uhls, a spokeswoman for the group, said many young bass and trout die in the lake behind Oroville Dam because they have no place to hide from predators.
