Incensed Reader Tries to See the Light Again

Nola Ricards of Arcadia needs help in finding Liquid Incense. It is a product formerly (perhaps still) made in India that is applied to a light bulb, and when the bulb is lit, the heat makes the fragrance waft through the room. Does the product perhaps exist under another name? she wonders. Can you help, or will Richards stay incensed as long as she has to create the romantic moods ion her life with the lights off?

Eugene Manusov of Westwood would love to find a hot-lather dispenser to fit on top of a can of foam-type shaving crea m . Sunbeam no longer makes the product, but Manusov wonders if a similar item is on the market. Can you help by warming up to this request, or will Manusov be out in the cold the next time he looks for a hot shave.

It looks like lighter spirits for several readers (the latest being Lloyd and Martha Kramer of Long Beach) who have been looking for Dirilyte flatware. Don Clements of the Dirilyte firm says that it stocks the discontinued patterns, including the Empress pattern that the Kramers are seeking. The address is Dirilyte, 939 W. Joy Condreay of South Gate, who was looking for some Tangee natural lipstick because it “goes on such a lovely pink,” should soon be in the pink again. Pat Smith of Granada Hills and a Westside reader found the product in the Santa Monica Newberry and Woolworth stores. Jessie C. Obert of Highland Park writes that she has been buying Tangee lipstick at Kress on Brand Boulevard in Glendale. Mrs. E. D. Mitchell writes that stores that carry the Neutrogena line carry a product similar to Tangee that comes in natural and red; both shades change color according to the wearer’s complexion, Mitchell says. And for a real change, M. T. Wood of Van Nuys, Carol Guillebeaux of Woodland Hills, Mrs. N. M. Sweet of Lakewood and Louise Lubbe of Long Beach all report that Tangee is now manufactured by Consumer Sales Co., P. O. Box 118, Scarsdale, N.Y. 10583. It is now called Anders Lowe Original Formula Natural Lipstick and is sold by the dozen or half dozen.

We are not yet stuck with the request of G. Worthenbury of Santa Monica, who wants to get his sticky fingers on some Meyercord decals. Helen Petty of Temple City said a variety store in her town has a few left; she didn’t say which store. Alice Bray of Santa Barbara says that the president of the Meyercord company wrote to her last July (when she requested some decals) to tell store owners to request them, and a salesman would call. She got nowhere. However, three readers wrote that they had Meyercord decals and might be willing to give them up. If Worthenbury (or anyone else) is interested, just stick a stamped, self-addressed envelope into the mail.
