SEOUL, South Korea —
A state-financed research center issued a report predicting a less optimistic economic performance for 1985 than the government’s recent forecast.
The Korea Development Institute projected that gross national product would grow by 7.3% this year, compared with a government forecast of 7.5%. The institute also predicted the current account deficit would reach $950 million in 1985, higher than the government’s goal of $500 million to $700 million.
