PCAA Roundup : Santa Barbara Beats Long Beach
Scott Fisher scored 26 points and had 12 rebounds Monday night to lead UC Santa Barbara to an 84-73 Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. victory over Cal State Long Beach at the Long Beach Arena.
The Gauchos won despite the fact that they made only 24 field goals to 29 for the 49ers. UCSB hit on 35 of its 46 attempts from the free throw line while Long Beach had only 18 attempts and made 11.
Connor Henry added 21 points and had 5 assists for the Gauchos, who improved their PCAA record to 2-0 and their overall mark to 6-5. Henry made 14 of his 16 free throw tries.
Fresno State 58, San Jose State 49--Scott Barnes scored 20 points, including eight straight that killed a late San Jose rally, as the Bulldogs improved their record to 2-0 in the PCAA and 7-4 overall at Fresno. The Spartans dropped to 1-2 and 6-6.
