Foothill Christian School has been granted permission to build a gymnasium with adjoining classrooms at its campus on Baseline Road, enabling the 20-year-old school to add seventh and eighth grades to its curriculum. The Glendora City Council this week approved an environmental impact study and granted parking and setback variances for the new facility.

The school has two campuses for its 500 current pupils, with preschool and the first two grades at the Baseline Road site, and grades 3 through 6 a few blocks away on Grand Avenue. Principal Jerry Haddock said additional classrooms and grades will meet the demands of growing enrollment, and more than 50 more students will be enrolled next September, when he expects the buildings to be completed.
