A suspect in at least six San Diego area bank robberies over the last three months was arrested Tuesday about an hour after he allegedly entered the Bank of America branch office at 2666 Del Mar Heights Road and made off with $2,435 in cash. The suspect, identified by San Diego police as Donald Deshotels, 24, was arrested at 1:15 p.m. near his home in Southeast San Diego by Detectives Grant Raybould and Dan Luth. Deshotels was unarmed and offered no resistance, according to Bill Robinson, a Police Department spokesman. Robinson said Deshotels was wanted for questioning in the robberies of three Bank of America branch offices, a Security Pacific office, a First Interstate Bank branch and a Great American Savings office. In each case, the bandit simulated a weapon, showed the teller a note demanding cash, grabbed the note back and fled, Robinson said.
