Covina
Inter-Community Health Services Inc., the nonprofit parent corporation of Inter-Community Medical Center in Covina, has received state approval to establish a hospice service at 820 N. Phillips Ave. in West Covina. The Hospice of the East San Gabriel Valley Inc. will be a 10-bed nursing facility providing care to terminally ill patients. Duane Carlberg, executive director of the parent corporation, said construction would begin in the summer and the facility would be completed in 1986. The estimated cost of the project is $1.4 million.
