Webster acknowledged that “there are pockets of concern” about violent crime in the United States, even though overall rates for serious crime have declined in the last two years. Webster said in an interview on ABC-TV’s “Good Morning America” that fear of confrontation with criminals exists “particularly in areas where individuals feel vulnerable to violent crime.”
