Oxy said it has agreed to explore for oil in Ecuador.
Under the four-year agreement, Occidental Petroleum will search for and develop oil fields in a 494,000-acre section of the South American country’s eastern jungle. The contract is Ecuador’s latest step in seeking to attract foreign investment to search for oil in that nation’s Oriente region, the Los Angeles-based petroleum company said.
