The UAW-Harvester contract offers job security.

The new United Auto Workers contract with International Harvester includes a program with a guarantee of a certain number of UAW production hours, which had never before been negotiated by the union, a UAW official said. The three-year pact, ratified by a 6,205-to-2,394 vote, also gives about 11,500 workers a pay raise and restores “the lion’s share” of concessions made in 1982, said UAW spokesman Peter Laarman.
