A Greek oil tanker was hit by a missile in the Persian Gulf near the Saudi Arabian coast. No injuries were reported. The missile was believed to have been fired from an Iranian warship, but Iran did not claim responsibility for the attack. Only hours earlier, Iraq said its warplanes attacked two ships south of Iran’s Kharg Island oil terminal, but this report was not independently confirmed. Iran and Iraq have attacked dozens of ships since their border war began in 1980.
