Roads Reopened to W. Virginia County Cut Off by Snow

KINGWOOD, W. Va. —
Most of Preston County’s snow-clogged roads were reopened Monday and emergency workers concentrated on getting food and supplies to thousands of rural residents who were snowbound for more than a week.
“Things are looking a lot better,” Jack Wills, deputy director of county emergency services, said. “A lot of people who were stranded can get out to get supplies now.”
Officials had estimated last week that as many as 15,000 residents were snowbound in their homes.
