Abill to extend the life of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy for four years was introduced Tuesday by Assemblyman Gray Davis (D-Sherman Oaks). The 5-year-old agency is due to expire on July 1, 1986.
The agency was created by the Legislature to acquire parkland, either for itself or for other agencies, primarily near urban areas. Davis said the conservancy has been responsible for protecting 3,500 acres of open space.
