Cop Killer Executed as Victim’s Dad Watches

STARKE, Fla. —
James David Raulerson died in Florida’s electric chair today for killing a policeman in a 1975 gun battle, his execution witnessed by the victim’s father, who had longed for years “to see the day they pull the switch.”
Raulerson, 33, was convicted of shooting to death policeman Michael Stewart, 23, during a robbery at a Jacksonville restaurant. Stewart’s father, Jack, was among the witnesses when Raulerson was pronounced dead at 7:11 a.m.
