Snow to Reach 3,000-Foot Level

Share

The National Weather Service forecast 1 to 2 inches of snow at 3,000-foot level today on the eastern slopes of San Diego County mountains.

This is in addition to the 7 inches already accumulated on Mt. Laguna and Mt. Palomar. Julian has 5 inches of snow, and Cuyamaca State Park reported 2 inches. According to a National Weather Service spokesman, the Anza Borrego Desert State Park might also receive trace amounts of snow today.

San Diego County residents can look forward to somewhat milder weather beginning Tuesday, however, as the cold, unstable Arctic air mass that has hovered over the county for several days moves eastward out of Southern California.

Dryer, more stable air is expected to move in, bringing warmer, sunnier days and slightly warmer nights. Daytime temperatures should be in the upper 50s to mid 60s, with overnight lows throughout the county ranging from the mid 30s to upper 40s.
