Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) said that he plans to vote against confirming Edwin Meese III as attorney general when the Senate Judiciary Committee meets this week. Despite opposition from Democrats who believe that Meese’s tangled finances make him unfit for the job, Meese is expected to be confirmed. Baucus said Meese does not have public trust and lacks integrity.
