A 32-year-old man fell to his death from a cliff near the boat harbor at Dana Point, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department reported. The identity of the victim was withheld pending notification of next of kin. Lt. Tom Conner said the man had walked to the cliffs, about a half mile from the boat harbor, with several friends about 4:30 p.m. Conner said that the friends climbed down to the shore area and urged their companion to join them, but that the man remained behind on the cliffs. The man’s friends later found that he had fallen to his death, Conner said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
