A blown fuse at the San Diego Zoo was blamed for shutting off power to half the park for 2 1/2 hours early Monday morning. A zoo spokesman said moisture apparently had leaked into a main fuse box. All zoo power had to be turned off during repairs. There were no visitors in the park when the power was shut off and the zoo opened at its usual time, 9 a.m., without any problems. All attractions except the sky tram were in full operation. Some of the reptiles and primates experienced discomfort without heat, but none of the park’s animals was harmed or in any danger, the spokesman said. The zoo’s administrative building and gift shop were without power and telephones but the animal hospital and research facilities were served by auxiliary power sources.
