A man once on the FBI’s list of the 10 most wanted fugitives was ordered Tuesday to stand trial April 8 for attempted murder in the shooting of a Ramona liquor store clerk in 1978. Vincent J. Russo, 30, who was extradited here from Beaver Falls, Pa., is charged with attempted murder, kidnaping for ransom and three robbery counts in the Dec. 2, 1978, shooting of Dale Eaton, then 20, who worked at Stage Coach Liquors in Ramona. Eaton, who was shot five times, testified Tuesday that Russo wished him “Merry Christmas” before shooting him.
