Without discussion, the City Council this week approved the remaining $17,000 needed to continue the second phase of the city’s child sexual abuse prevention program.

The council last month allocated only $5,000 of the $22,000 requested after Councilman Gil Archuletta raised questions about the program’s operation. After this week’s meeting, Archuletta said he was satisfied with new information on the program’s progress in helping abuse victims and in developing an educational program for use this spring in the city’s elementary schools.
