USC (7-2 in the Pacific 10 and 13-5 overall) will try to retain sole possession of first place tonight when the Trojans play Washington in Seattle. The Huskies (6-3 in conference) are tied for second with UCLA, Arizona and Oregon State, one game behind USC.

USC is unbeaten in four games on the road this season. The Trojans have defeated the Arizona and Oregon schools on their home courts and will try for a sweep in Washington this weekend. They will also play Washington State (2-7) Saturday afternoon in Pullman, Wash.

“We’re winning because we have more maturity, better players and we’re playing with some momentum. We’ve started the same lineup every game this season,” Trojan Coach Stan Morrison said.

UCLA, meanwhile, will try to regroup from consecutive one-point losses to USC and Notre Dame when the Bruins play at Washington State tonight.
